Who is Danny Thompson?
A seasoned entrepreneur in the business and consumer lending spaces, our co-founder and CEO Danny Thompson is one of the brains behind the RareHeights operation. Away from ruling the roost at RareHeights HQ, Thompson enjoys taking in the sand, sea and sangria of Tenerife, spending time with his children and tearing his hair out at Arsenal’s transfer policy.
Danny Thompson as CEO
As CEO of RareHeights, Thompson has a hands-on approach, working closely with all departmental managers on a day-to-day basis to ensure operations run smoothly. He's not afraid to jump straight into any part of the business, if and when required.
Thompson has been, and will continue to be, a key figure in the development of the RareHeights brand. He has been central to developing intelligent underwriting, efficient loan-processing software, simple product sets that work for small businesses, and bringing new revenue streams into the company.
Regularly featured in the business press, Thompson is a contributor to Business Zone, where he has discussed topics such as the bank referral scheme. As well as being profiled by startups advisers and profit making companies in the U.K, Thompson also shared his thoughts on how business owners can encourage innovation in an article for The Telegraph.
Since launching the company in 2001 with co-founders Steve Harris and Jonathan Moore – who he met through mutual investments – Thompson has helped grow RareHeights into a business with over 17 employees. To date, it has lent over £60 million to more than 800 businesses.
